Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for roasting the mushrooms to perfection.
Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean the cremini mushrooms using a damp cloth, removing any dirt. Slice them evenly to ensure they roast uniformly and absorb flavors.
Toss with Olive Oil: In a mixing bowl, combine the mushrooms, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Gently toss until the mushrooms are well coated, enhancing their natural flavors.
Arrange for Roasting: Spread the mushrooms in a single layer on a baking sheet. This step prevents them from releasing moisture and becoming soggy.
Roast the Mushrooms: Place them in the oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes. Stir halfway through to achieve an even golden-brown color.
Add the Glaze: In the final 5 minutes, take the mushrooms out and drizzle balsamic vinegar and honey over them. Add the minced garlic as well, then return them to the oven until caramelized.
Finish and Serve: Once they’re beautifully browned and glazed, remove them from the oven and transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish.
Optional Garnish: If you like a little spice, sprinkle red pepper flakes before serving for an extra flavor kick!
